George Condon acknowledges the standing ovation for his Paultons century [Dave Vokes]
Australian George Condon, above, scored his first competitive century on UK soil when his 105 set up an 131-run win for Paultons over Southern Premier League Division 2 rivals Basingstoke & North Hants at May’s Bounty.
The Manley batsman struck three sixes and 16 fours in his hundred and shared an important stands with Julian Drake (48) and then Camerson Grierson (21) to point Paultons towards a formidable 255-5.
Relieved to see the back of his GCSEs, little Josh May (42) top scored, but Basingstoke were put in a spin by Andrew Denney (4-44) and Scott Dawes (3-30), collapsing from 84-2 to 124 all out.
Langley Manor lie second from bottom in SPL2 after an eight-wicket hiding by Liphook & Ripsley.
Nick Doubell (37) and Steve Harris (37) gave middle-order stability to the Manor, but Liphook blasted their way past 195 (Jordie Smith 25*) on the back of a start by Rob Nicklin (44) and Chris Martin (33), and unbeaten knocks from Suman Ganguly (51) and Harry Munt (48).
