Southern Districts, the Adelaide-based Grade club, raised a glass or two to St Cross Symondians' product George O'Connor, who celebrated his 20th birthday in style with a six-wicket haul against South Australia Under-19s.
The Winchester talent took 6-57, including the last four wickets for eight runs, as the SA youngsters were dismissed for 156 in response to Southern Districts' 238 all out.
O'Connor joined Sunbury last season and went on to take 28 wickets in the club's ECB Surrey Championship triumph.
Bournemouth teenager Conor Smith was MVP in Altona North's Victoria Turf League match against Sunshine, but ended up in the losing room. He rescued North Altona from 109-8 with a fine 69 (seven fours + two sixes) and, as his side defended 191, took 4-71, with his left-arm spin. Sunshine got home by two wickets.
Hampshire's Ian Holland hit 71 for Victoria Premier club Ringwood against Carlton, but Fletcha Middleton's Australian winter has ended prematurely - a calf injury necessitating an early return home to the Utilita Bowl treatment table. He hit two centuries for Fitzroy Doncaster.
