Calmore Sports face a 400-mile round trip into deepest Cornwall to defend the Voneus Village Cup they won at Lord's last September - but there is a mouth watering prospect awaiting them when they travel to the outskirts of Truro on Sunday week, July 3.
Their 'round of 16' opponents Grampound Road are renowned for the magnificent Cornish pasty and jam scone teas they serve up - Hampshire Seniors' 50s team having played there on three occasions in recent years and returned with glowing praise for the tea-time tuck in. On the field, Grampound Road lie third in the Cornwall League Division 2.
There is a great incentive in winning in Cornwall as the victors will enjoy home advantage in the quarter and semi-finals.   Sunday's second round results -
Grampound Road 164-8 beat Corse & Staunton 138 by 26 runs
Calmore Sports Club 195-6 beat Oxford Downs 194-7 by 4 wickets
Pentyrch 142 beat Congresbury 109 by 33 runs
Cookham Dean 123 lost to Goatacre 126-5 by 5 wickets
Leeds & Broomfield (Essex) 259-7 beat Valley End 157 by 102 runs
Foxton 327-5 beat Horndon on the Hill 180 by 147 runs
Redbourn 218-8 beat Mayfield 214-6 by 2 wickets
Findon 201-8 lost to Stoke Green 207-7 by 6 runs.
