Calmore Sports are through to the last 16 of the Voneus Village Cup after pulling off a thrilling two-wicket win in the final over of their fifth round tie against Berkshire champions Cookham Dean on the outskirts of Maidenhead.
Three wicket hauls by left-armer Steve Wright (3-10) and off-spinner Ben Perry (3-15) helped reduce Cookham to 120 all out, a total which owed much to Shahzad Asghar (35) and Simret Mangat (17), who came in at nine with the score at 73-7 and swatted two big sixes.
Nevertheless, Calmore remained firmly in the box seat, progressing sedately with Will Brewster (26) and Ben Johns (24) taking their reply to 48 without loss.
But once the opening partnership was broken Calmore lost wickets at all too regular intervals, with the outcome in the balance when Mark Lavelle (11) was bowled at 93-7 and more so when the patient Perry (10) fell at 112-8.
Calmore needed five runs to win off the 40th and last over. Steve Wright pulled the first delivery for three, then the evergreen Mike West (12 not out) sealed it with a boundary off the third ball.
