Calmore Sports are one win away from another visit to Lord's in the Voneus Village Cup final after beating Goatacre by five wickets in Sunday's quarter-final in front of a large sun drenched crowd at Loperwood Park.
They dismissed the West of England Premier Division 1 side for 112 and, after a few nervy moments, knocked off the runs with plenty of time to spare, Ben Johns (26) top scoring. Amazingly, Calmore's bowlers didn't concede a single extra; in contrast, Goatacre gifted Calmore 27 sundries !
Cheshire side Alvanley, who Calmore beat in last season's final, were knocked out in the quarter-finals by Rainford, while Cambridgeshire's Foxton Granta beat Redbourne (186) by five wickets.
