Table topping Calmore Sports took eight Portsmouth wickets before conceding only their second defeat of the season to Portsmouth on Southsea seafront.
Bowled out for 121 – young left-hander Ben Johns top scored with 49 – Calmore had Portsmouth on the run at 106-8 before Andrew Marston got the city side across the line.
Calmore remain top of British Gas Southern League Division 2, but their lead has been cut to five points at the start of a crunch fortnight, which sees them travel to Hook & Newnham Basics on Saturday and then host Basingstoke & North Hants at Loperwood Park on July 15.
Victorian Tom Treble, from Geelong, made 123 and set up a 52-run win for Rowledge, who defended 241-7 against Liphook & Ripsley, who were dismissed for 189 (Ryan Covey 89).
Treble’s second century of the season contained five sixes and 17 fours and underpinned the Rowledge total. Left-arm spinner George Keely bowled a telling 1-28 off ten overs as Liphook, minus the influential Suman Ganguly, never got into the run chase.
