Burridge run gun Mat Goles has delayed his return flight to South Africa so he can play in Sunday's potentially historic Southern Premier League T20 Cup final against Alton at South Wilts' ground at Bemerton on the western outskirts of Salisbury.
Goles chalked up a cool 822 runs, including three centuries, and played a major role in Burridge's maiden title success this season. He had been due to return to Cape Town earlier this week. Having won a championship medal, Goles now wants a cup winner's medal in his suitcase too !
Burridge's dream of a league and cup double has been affected by the absence of holidaying first team skipper Joe Collings-Wells, pinch hitter Shou Chowdhury and seamer Ben White.
But three of their hugely influential seam attack will be on duty at Wilton Road, 2pm.
Past winners Alton had a major injury concern over batsman Dan Harris, who twisted his ankle on the boundary rope prior to last weekend's final game with South Wilts, but the opening batsman expected to play. Teenage all-rounder Jude Wright is out.
Alton: Harris, Ruffell, Myers, Mike Heffernan, Egleton, Mark Heffernan, Paul, Sumner, Verney, Scott, Gadsby.
Burridge: Inayat Ullah, Mathew Goles, Nathan Schoultz, Chris Blake, Brad Griffiths, Francis Moore, Dan Stancliffe, James Hughes, Oli Southon, Jack Paskins, Ollie Creal.
