St Cross Symondians have been dealt a double blow on the eve of tomorrow’s must win visit to ECB Southern Premier Division leaders Bournemouth at Chapel Gate, 11.30.
County pair Felix Organ and Harry Came are in their respective Hampshire and Derbyshire county squads for Sunday’s Championship matches against Surrey and Nottinghamshire.
But skipper Ed Ellis is back as St Cross look to halt a sequence of three defeats in their last four outings – a run that has left them 26 points adrift of Bournemouth, who chase a seventh straight win.
The Lions, whose only defeat came at the Green Jackets ground on May 1, are without influential all-rounder Tom Robinson, who tore a thigh muscle in last week’s win over Havant and will probably be sidelined for a month. Ollie Breckon steps back in.
Bournemouth: C Park, Collins, N Park, Webb, Matthews, Woodruff, Denham, Hurley, Pack, Conway,
St Cross Symondians: Ellis, T Foyle, Mike Haworth, Trussler, H Foyle, Taylor, Booth, Beetham, Lewis, Woolvine, Matt Haworth.
It’s a head-to-head round ten afternoon for the top four, with second placed Bashley (Rydal) – 21 points behind Bournemouth – looking to land the double on visitors’ South Wilts at the BCG.
Brad Currie, who wrecked South Wilts with a 5-20 return at Bemerton on May 1, plays his first Bashley match since the opening day of the season and will line up alongside Tom Friend, who missed last week’s St Cross victory as a Covid precaution.
Influential spin all-rounder Jack Mynott broke his thumb in an Eastbourne College fielding session, while James Hayward is a rare absentee for the visitors. But leading wicket taker Matt Burton returns.
Bashley (Rydal): Gordon, Digby, Fisher, Porter, Friend, Andrew, Jacques, Wilson, Currie, Baker, Fletcher.
South Wilts: Morton, Stearman, Rowe, Godsal, Draper, Hussey, Grant, Huntley, Warner, Lewis, Burton.
Lymington, out of immediate trouble at the foot of the table after back-to-back wins over bottom two Hook & Newnham Basics and Alton, host the Hampshire Academy at the Sports Ground.
Lymington: Metcalfe, Rogers, Crabb, Scott, Du Plooy, Hand, Cox, Royan, Attrill, Drodge, Wade.
Academy: Mumford, Fontaine-Jackson, Eckland, Broderick, Barker, Kelly, Trodd, Prichard, Khanna, Catherwood, Croom.
Lymington are 20 points clear of the bottom two on the eve of Alton’s visit to Burridge and Hook & Newnham Basics’ home game with Havant at the KGV.

Alton: Gonella, South, Middleton, Harris, Myers S, Hale, Wright, Heffernan, Walters, Myers J, Ballinger.
Max Simpson, who has been producing some encouraging bowling performances in the county junior squads, gets a Hook call up for Havant’s visit, while Harry Robson is isolating.
Hook & Newnham Basics: J Buckingham, Lockwood, Wilcock, Love, M Buckingham, Thomson, Brown, Brewer, Simpson, Balcombe, Divecha.
