Chris Morgan struck his highest-ever Southern Premier League score as Havant kept their League Cup East group title dream alive.
The captain hit an unbeaten 84 against Hampshire Academy as Havant collected their fourth successive win to take the title race down to the final weekend.
Havant will finish top if they triumph at Sarisbury Athletic on Saturday and St Cross Symondians II, who have led the table all season, lose to Rowledge.
The Academy posted 209-4 at Havant Park, opener Tom Prest continuing his fine form with 86 - his third SPL East half-century to go alongside his 129 against Sparsholt.
He shared a century partnership with George Metzger (40) and was finally out when he was lured out of his crease by Morgan, only to be stumped by Jez Bulled.
Morgan and Bulled would later team up for Havant’s match-winning partnership, with the hosts 159-5 when the wicketkeeper walked out to join his captain in the middle.
Morgan went on to hit 11 boundaries in his 76-ball innings, while Bulled was 23 not out as Havant won off the first ball of the last over.
Richard Hindley had earlier hit 43, before becoming a third victim for bustling 16-year old Eton College left-armer Finn Catherwood-Smith [left](3-29), who has taken seven wickets in two Academy league cup appearances and 22 in all this summer.
