TOBY ALBERT struck a career best 169 for Hampshire Under-17s against Worcestershire - only to be forced to retire hurt with a potential maiden ECB County Championships double century in his sights.
The former East Woodhay and Basingstoke & North Hants teenager, who is currently plying his trade with Finchampstead, dug Hampshire out of a hole at 25-3 and, with 30 boundaries under his belt, shared a double-century stand with George Pardoe (88) as Hampshire powered to 412-9 and a substantial first innings lead. But, having reached 169 not out, Albert limped out of the action with a knee injury and is touch and go for Tuesday's meet-up with Gloucestershire.
