CENTURION OPENERS IN 200 STAND AS HANTS U18s HIT 331

Openers Sam Ruffell (left) and Wilfred La Fontaine-Jackson, right, helped themselves to centuries as Hampshire Pathways Under-18s rattled up 331-7 against a spirited Wiltshire attack at South Wilts' Bemerton ground.
Ruffell's 117 in a double-century partnership was his second hundred in April, the Farnham teen having hit 113 for Lord Wandsworth College against RGS Guildford last weekend. His knock contained three sixes and 13 fours, while Winchester College ace Fontaine-Jackson's 107 included one maximum alongside 11 fours.  Wiltshire were dismissed for 102 (Jack Goodwin 25), Francis Moore taking 3-11 and Conor Smith and Max Simpson two each.

Hampshire Pathways also celebrated a T20 double over their Cricket Wales counterparts at Newport, Hampshire recovering from 16-4  to win the opening match by eight runs, and Archie Fairfax-Ross scoring a half-century in the second, which the visitors won by four wickets with three balls to spare.
