Former Andover and Totton & Eling all-rounder David Taylor [left] is plying his trade as head coach of Western Australian Grade club Melville.
The 45-year old, who scored over 2,400 runs during his four seasons playing in the ECB Southern Premier League between 2012 and 2015, has replaced Brad Thompson, who has had two spells with Bashley (Rydal) in a player/coach role.
Taylor, who hit five SPL centuries alongside a controversial ‘world record’ 330 when he dropped down four tiers to play for Totton & Eling II in a Division 3 match against Trojans, was appointed by former Hampshire opener and manager Paul Terry, right, who is Director of Cricket at Tompkins Park.
His son Sean (also late of Hampshire) is Melville’s first grade captain. They have won two of their five matches so far this season.
