Mason Crane’s winter Down Under is not only helping to develop the Hampshire youngster’s leg-spin bowling – but also his batting skills !

Hitting a six and 14 fours, Crane shared a remarkable century tenth-wicket partnership with last man Matt Junk (60 not out) after Gordon had tottered to 121-9 in response to Sydney University’s 340-9 in the sixth round of matches.
The last pair added 128 before previously undefeated table toppers Gordon surrendered their five-match unbeaten start to the NSW season by being 249 all out.
“Mason showed several times for Hampshire last summer, often in difficult circumstances, that he is no mug with the bat and making 80 will boost his confidence no end,” said team-mate Lewis McManus.
Crane, who hit 69 against Manley Warringah in a Grade match last month, earlier took 4-112, taking his Sydney wicket haul to 23.
