Lymington have been bowled off the top of the ECB British Gas Southern Premier Division after a shock 83-run defeat by the bottom club Andover.
With three rounds of matches to go, reinstated leaders South Wilts enjoy a ten-point advantage over Bashley (Rydal) and Havant, the defending champions, who both won.
But with Havant still to play South Wilts and Lymington, it’s all set for a thrilling finale to the season on September 2.
Andover, despite their surprise win at Lymington, still lag 28 points behind, but with fellow strugglers Alton and New Milton yet to play they could still escape.
Calmore Sports are now 19 points ahead of Basingstoke & North Hants at the top of Division 1.
The lead pair both won their latest games, Calmore by three wickets at Ventnor, while Basingstoke’s 20-run victory at Chapel Gate is a serious setback to Bournemouth’s own promotion hopes.
At the bottom, Tichborne Park are all but relegated, while Rowledge trail Ventnor by 17 points after losing by three wickets to Portsmouth.
Division 2 pace setters Totton & Eling crashed to a second consecutive defeat when Paultons beat them by 81 runs.
OTs & Romsey, who enjoyed a handsome 68-run win at St Cross Symondians, have closed the gap to five points, but Hartley Wintney are putting in a strong finish.
South Wilts II saw their five-match winning run checked when a Jack Budd inspired Langley Manor beat them by one wicket.
Trojans are 11 points behind them after crashing to a 148-run defeat at Hartley Wintney.
Alton seconds pulled off a massive shock by beating Division 3 leaders Basingstoke & North Hants II, who now lead Waterlooville by a mere six points.
The Ville dented Bashley’s promotion hopes with a 50-run victory, while at the bottom of Division 3 only two points separate Fair Oak, Fawley and Alton II, the clubs immediately above all-but-relegated Hursley Park.
