With the top three Ventnor, Portsmouth and Calmore Sports all losing, Rowledge have taken over top spot in Southern Premier Division 1.
They trimmed the 2021 national Village Cup winners by 19 runs, while Ventnor came a cropper at Alton and Portsmouth fell to a three-wicket defeat at Sarisbury Athletic.
Although Ricky Yates (54) hit a battling half-century, Rowledge probably didn’t fancy their chances too highly when they stumbled to 111-8 (Steve Wright 3-28) against Calmore, but teenager Ryan Littlewood (48) and tailender Richard Forbes added a precious 62 for the ninth wicket.  Rowledge closed 174-9.
Ben Johns (36) and Mark Lavelle (30) eased Calmore’s reply to 68-1 but, having reached 93-2, they collapsed.  No surprise as the evergreen David Lloyd (1-18 off ten overs) and left-arm spinner Oli Baker, with remarkable figures of four wickets for a mere three runs (ten overs) were turning the screw.
Calmore lost wickets for ten runs and, towards the end of their 155-9 (Sam Moss 23), another three for seven runs.
Sri Lankan left-hander Dineth Thimodya scored his second century of the season, but was unable to save Ventnor from a seven-wicket defeat by Alton at the Jubilee Ground.
He picked Ventnor up from 8-2 and hit five sixes and five boundaries in his unbeaten 100, receiving support from Ross Whyte (31) and young Sam Mills (23) as the islanders (who have Ben Attrill back from Lymington) posted 210-8 (Avro Appavoo 3-28).
Dan Harris, with a 15-four 80, led the way for the Brewers and provided a perfect platform from which Scott Myers (59) and Mark Heffernan (28) finished the job.

West Australian Ronan DeGrussa (above) impressed with bat and ball as Sarisbury Athleic leapt above Portsmouth. He bagged four cheap wickets and, batting seven, top scored as his side claimed a three-wicket win at Allotment Road.
Skipper Ben Duggan (29) was caught by Nathan Feltham off Jacob Harris (2-39) as Portsmouth advanced to 39-1. DeGrussa then struck twice in quick succession, dismissing Sri Lankan overseas Minhaj Jalill (2) and James Christian (0).
And the visitors lurched to 54-4 when former Fareham & Crofton ace Dan Wimble (4) became DeGrussa’s third victim.  Opener Jack Marson (28) hung around until he was eighth out with the score on 132.
Henry Woolf (22) and Joe Smitherman (17) added late order runs before DeGrussa ended with 4-16 when he trapped Reuben McArdle leg before to end the Portsmouth innings on 145.
DeGrussa’s second major contribution came when he walked out the middle with Sarisbury in big trouble at 66-5.
McArdle (2-23) had removed Sam Floyd (11) and captain Josh Hill (0) while Jalill (2-36) dismissed opener Tom Mills (36) and Ricky Rawlins (7).
The Gosnells player helped rebuild Sarisbury’s innings, putting on 46 for the sixth wicket with Nathan Feltham (34 off 35 balls).  DeGrussa added another 24 for the seventh wicket with Harris (11) as Sarisbury approached their target and was 37 not out when victory was achieved.
