Dom Hand and Matt Metcalfe took the plaudits as Lymington got their first win points on the board with a 45-run win over Burridge, the Time pennant game at Botley Road being rain affected late in the afternoon.
Hand, left, underpinned Lymington’s 232-9 with a workmanlike 86, while Metcalfe wrecked the Burridge batting with a 6-57 return off his 18 overs.
Rain led to the Lymington total being trimmed to a target score of 182 off 50 overs, but Burridge were dismissed for 147 with nine overs still to be bowled.
Hand’s powers of concentration (he faced 178 balls) were key for Lymington, who gradually built on a prosperous start through Oli Calcott (27) and then Ryan Scott (33).
Team-mates batted around Hand, who was eventually out at 194-5, leaving Josh Procter licence to smack a quick fire 27 off 18 balls and take the visitors to a powerful 232-9 (Richard Lock 4-68).
Burridge won their opening three 50-over pennant matches, but the longer form isn’t suiting them thus far.
Metcalfe ruled the roost, taking six of the first seven Burridge wickets to fall before rain caused an adjustment to their target score.
But they were never at the races and were bowled out for 147 (Joe Collings-Wells 27).
