Dorset’s youngsters are off to a flier in the ECB Royal London Under-17 County Cup with a convincing 124-run win over Wiltshire at Marlborough.
Building on a 71-run start by Will Caldwell (36) and Jack Owens (37), they posted 240-9, with Harrison Clarke (41) and skipper Dom Cluttterbuck (25) consolidating in the middle-order.
Oli Perrin really did do some damage in the closing overs, clouting four huge sixes in an 18-ball 38 which put the game beyond Wiltshire’s reach.
Bournemouth left-arm spinner Robbie Pack (4-8) and Clutterbuck (3-35) bowled Wiltshire out for 116.
Dorset host Berkshire in their next U17 match at Dean Park on Sunday, 11am.
