DOUBLE BLOW FOR VILLE MAKES VENTNOR PLATE FAVOURITES

Ventnor and Waterlooville contest the second t20 Plate final at Totton & Eling today (Sunday) (3pm) knowing they may be hard pressed to repeat the wonderful excitement provided by New Milton, who beat the Eels in a Super Over after the final had ended in a tie.
Knocked out of the Southern Electric twenty20 Cup by Basingstoke & North Hants after a first round thriller, Ventnor beat Portsmouth easily but then needed an explosive pre-tea assault (50-plus runs came off the last two overs) to get them home in the semi-final against the Eels.
The Ville, just back from their west country tour, have scalped both Premier Division Alton and SPL1 side Bournemouth in the Plate and will relish their role as underdogs against Ventnor in the final.
But key all-rounder Sam Hillman is in America and opening bowler Danny Durant sidelined with a back injury.
Ventnor: Henry Bartlett, Tom Friend, Jake George, Sean Willis, Neil Westhorpe, Hugh Calloway, Ross Whyte, Toby Corbin, Rob Snell, Ben Woodhouse, Mark Holmes.
Waterlooville: Tim Jackson, Sam Williams, James Scutt, Alex Sheppard, Jon Hudson, Max Goddard, Brad Mengham, Tom Farley, Archie Reynolds,  Andy Reynolds, Matt Cook.
