Salisbury’s sports starved cricket followers can enjoy the long overdue sound of the thwack of willow on ball for the first time this summer at South Wilts’ ground at Bemerton this weekend.
The lifting of the ban on recreational cricket means that South Wilts can play a 40-over intra-club fixture on Saturday (1pm) in preparation for a full-scale t20 double header against Wiltshire’s Minor Counties team on Sunday, starting at 11 o’clock.
Spectators are welcome and ample car parking is available at Wilton Road, where social distancing regulations will apply at all times.
* Diary date: Dorset play Wiltshire in a t20 double banker at Bashley (Rydal) on Sunday week (July 26).
