Simon Peters smashed two huge sixes off the last two balls of the match to give Langley Manor a nail biting victory over Calmore Sports in the New Forest CA President’s Cup semi-final.
His big hitting exploits earned the Manor a cup final showdown with Bashley (Rydal) at Lymington on Friday evening (July 10), 6.15.
Chasing down Calmore’s 123, Langley Manor were put in a good position by Steve Harris (46). But they still needed 20 runs off the final two overs.
Up stepped Peters to clout a six off Mike West’s penultimate over and then twice hit Paul Proudley out of the ground to clinch a cup final place.
Bashley (Rydal) scraped through by two runs in their semi-final with New Milton.
