Sarisbury Athletic launch their bid to trim Bournemouth’s 11 points lead at the top of Southern Premier League Division One when they visit Village Cup hopefuls Liphook & Ripsley.
But they will have to make do without three key players, the influential holidaying Hill brothers, Sam (left) and Josh, and all-rounder Andrew Ireland at Ripsley Park (11am).
The Hill brothers have played a key part in Sarisbury’s promotion push, teenager Sam with his left-arm spin bowling and elder sibling Josh with his hard hitting in the middle-order.
Liphook host Cherwell League leaders Oxford Downs for a pace in the Village Cup quarter-finals on Sunday, 1pm.
Starting their Loperwood Park match at 11am, Calmore Sports have work to do if they are to cut the gap at the top, but they have Michael Cook and Liam Newton back against visiting Ventnor, and also give a debut for Sam Moss.
Calmore Sports: Lavelle, Cook, Johns, Manning, Perry, Moss, Vann, West, Newton, Wright, Ducellier.
OTs & Romsey make a similarly early start against off-colour Hook & Newnham Basics, as do Portsmouth who will be on the M3 early as they prepare for an 11.30 start at Hartley Wintney – these games being brought forward so the teams can watch England’s World Cup quarter-final tie against Sweden.
