Havant will have to avenge last season’s close run defeat by Sussex Premier League high fliers Roffey if they are to progress into the quarter-finals of the ECB Royal London national club championship.
They suffered the acute disappointment of a penultimate ball defeat at Roffey, on the eastern outskirts of Horsham, having posted 275-7 in the zone final – only to be beaten, virtually single-handed, by Rohit Jagota’s magnificent 149 not out.
Roffey are pressing Preston Nomads hard at the top of the Sussex League again this season and, with home advantage, will fancy their chances again on Sunday July 12.
Havant reached the last 16, amassing 268-9 (Richard Hindley 57) at Bemerton last week before restricting a half-strength South Wilts to 246, Tom Morton and Jack Mynott hitting fifties.
The remainder of the Royal London draw is: Brentwood v Blackheath, Ealing v Swardeston, Bath v Sunbury.
