Havant cruised into the ECB national indoor sixes regional finals with an easy five-wicket win over Theale & Tilehurst at Fareham.
With Stuart Ransley taking 3-17, the Berkshire champions were skittled for 53 – a total Havant polished off inside six overs, with Jez Bulled and Richard HIndley each scoring 21 not out.
They will now travel to Canterbury on Sunday week (February 28) to play either Ipswich or Essex champions Belhus in the regional semi-finals.
A six off the fourth ball of the final over gave Island champions Newport a thrilling one-wicket win over Bournemouth at Lake.
With Jake Hurley making 38 not out and Luke Matthews an unbeaten 27, Bournemouth looked safe with 128-4 – especially when they had Newport tottering at 96-5. But the 42 extras Bournemouth conceded, aided by a superb 32 not out by Tom Dye, got Newport a visit to Taunton in two weeks time and a testing regional semi-final joust with Exeter University.
