ECB ROYAL LONDON CUP TIES SUNK !

15/5/2021

The three local ECB Royal London national club championship first round ties due to be played this (Sunday) afternoon were washed out by the on-going wet weather which led to widespread cancellations of yesterday's Southern Premier and Hampshire League programmes.
After the near total washout of round 3 Southern Premier League games, Bashley (Rydal), Burridge, Havant, South Wilts and St Cross Symondians were all doubly keen to play, but Bemerton, Burridge and Havant Park were all unsurprisingly waterlogged.
Hampshire Academy prospect Tom Prest, who hit a treble century against Sussex in midweek, had been  due to make his Bashley (Rydal) bow against South Wilts at Bemerton.
South Wilts: Mynott, Stearman, Rowe, Draper, Godsal, Grant, Pittman, Falconer, Harries, Lewis, Burton.
Bashley (Rydal): Prest, Digby, Porter, Friend, Jacques, Gordon, G. Wilson, Franklin, Stroud, Crisp, Read.

Burridge had been due to entertain St Cross Symondians at Botley Road, with the visitors forced to omit Hampshire’s Brad Taylor as each club is only allowed to field one contract professional.
St Cross Symondians: Organ, T Foyle, Came, Ellis, Lewis, H Foyle, Haworth, Trussler, O’Connor, Haworth, Braans.
Havant have twice been beaten by powerful Surrey Championship side Weybridge in the recent past and, like Burridge and South Wilts, will try again next Sunday, May 23.
