Havant and South Wilts have a second attempt at playing – and hopefully finishing – their rain delayed ECB Royal London national club championship group final next Sunday (June 26) afternoon.
They got just over halfway through their tie last Sunday when heavy drizzle sent the players and umpires scurrying from the field.
Havant were defending 217-5 and South Wilts had made 21 without loss when play was abandoned four overs into the evening session.
For almost an hour it looked as though Havant might be facing an embarrassing total as South Wilts second teamer Matt Burton (4-22) and Jack Mynott (1-19) reduced the hosts to 41-5.
But Hampshire Under-17s prospect Harry Gadd, with nine fours in a sensible 96 not out, and Richard Hindley (61) averted a batting collapse with an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 170 to ease Havant to a competitive 217-5.
Bridgewater and Frocester, whom Sunday's eventual winners will face in the opening national round, also had their tie abandoned, with the Somerset side struggling at 140-9.
Two former locals – Ed Denham and Ben Ladd-Gibbon – saw Walsall’s attack butchered for 330-6 when rain intervened at Wolverhampton.
Blackheath, Ealing, High Wycombe, Swardeston, Wanstead and Weybridge are all through to the national phase, with former Winchester College captain Oli Mills hitting a half-century for the Surrey club against Sussex Premier League champions Roffey.
