The Hampshire Cricket Society's autumn season could barely have got off to a better and brighter start when what is believed to be a record attendance listened to former MCC Chief Executive, Roger Knight at the Romsey Golf Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Knight, an accomplished county cricketer with Surrey (twice), Sussex and Gloucestershire, alongside being a teacher/housemaster at several prominent public schools, gave an hour-long talk on his playing career and his role at Lord's before engaging in a non-holds-barred Q & A with a 75-strong audience covering virtually all aspects of the current game, particularly his views on the 100 !
The Hampshire Cricket Society will be delighted to welcome aboard new members, the annual subscription being a modest £20. All the monthly meetings are at the Romsey Golf Club, where many existing members meet for lunch around an hour before the 2 o'clock starts. www.hantscricsoc.org.uk has full details.
