In preparation for the upcoming Test series, Cricket Australia has announced a 12-man squad to face Pakistan, featuring two former Totton & Eling all-rounders and teenage South Wilts opener Jake Winter.
Will Bosisto, who will captain a youthful CA side, and pace bowling all-rounder Cameron Valente played at Southern Gardens in recent seasons, while Jake Winter is the only non-contracted player within the squad, yet the talented batsmen has emerged over the last 12 months as one of South Australia’s brightest prospects.
Formerly an Under-19 Australian representative, Winter has impressed in this year’s West End Redbacks League and West End Premier Cricket competition – scoring three centuries and an 88 across his ten innings. Recently, Winter also made his debut in the Toyota Futures League, scoring an impressive 144 against the ACT, which has since been followed by scores of 21 (not out) and 22. The Glenelg based opener made over 500 runs for South Wilts this summer.
The Pakistan match will take place from the 8th to 10th of December at Cazaly’s stadium in a three-day, day-night tour match in Cairns.
