Hampshire Seniors veteran Terry Morton has been living in the run shadow of his Ealing-bound son Tom for the past few years.
But his batting skills are still very much in evidence – as he showed with a fine 98, which set up Hampshire Over-60s win over Gloucestershire.
Morton senior hit 11 fours in his 98 – he was bowled two runs short of his hundred – and with support from Geoff Beale (47) and Jon Floyd (34) pointed Hampshire to 220-4.
Gloucester threatened at 83-1, but Andy Yorke (3-35) and Paul Kerley (2-43) stemmed the run flow and with Morton pouching two catches finished 45 runs shot at 175-7.
