Fawley have been given the green light to continue to play Southern Premier and Hampshire League cricket at Holbury following the granting by Esso Petroleum of a licence to the newly formed Holbury Community Sports Association for bowls, cricket, soccer and tennis to continue to be played on the site.
Fawley’s future remained uncertain following the pre-Christmas closure of the Waterside Sports & Social Club, but now they can look ahead with optimism.
In a statement, the Holbury CSA said: “Although there will be challenges ahead and a lot of work to be carried out improving facilities over the next few months, all four clubs are totally committed to working together to ensure they all prosper and there is a future for the sports in the community for years to come.”
Relegated last summer, Fawley will play in SPL2 and HCL County 4 West this summer.
