Fawley have appointed Callum Earl, one of the Waterside club’s three sporting brothers, to succeed the departing Tom Gates as captain of their Southern Premier League Division 2 cricket team next season.
The 30-year old middle-order batsman, whose brothers Kieron and Elliott play in the same team, has been promoted in the wake of Gates’s switch to Bashley (Rydal) in 2016.
Fawley will have 22-year old South African leg-spin all-rounder Aashiq Rhode as their overseas player next summer.
The former Stellenbosh University student currently plays for Stellenbosch & Districts in the Boland Premier League in the Wineries region.
