South Wilts left-arm pace bowler Josh Croom (left) enhanced his growing reputation as a batsman by featuring in a record tenth wicket stand of 126 for his adopted South Australia Grade club Glenelg this weekend.
Glenelg were looking down the barrel of a heavy defeat when they fell to 180-9 against West End Premier rivals Tea Tree Gully, who had posted 386-9, former Hampshire & Sussex cricketer Joe Gatting making 84.
But last man Jack Pudney (79) and Croom, with an unbeaten 45, added 126 for the tenth wicket to raise the Glenelg reply to 306 and narrow the losing deficit to 80 runs.
Croom scored a career-best 96 for Wiltshire in the National Counties Championship at Bemerton last season and also made a maiden fifty for South Wilts.
