Former Middlesex and England off-spin bowler John Emburey is the guest speaker when the Hampshire Cricket Society raises curtain on its new winter season at the Romsey Golf Club - SO16 0XW - on Wednesday 6 October 2021 at 2.30pm.
The meeting is open to all local cricket enthusiasts who will have the opportunity of joining the HCS - www.hantscricsoc.org.uk - for the modest sum of £10 per annum.
Twice an Ashes winner, Emburey made 64 England appearances, forming a successful and artistic spin partnership with Phil Edmonds during the Middlesex dominance of County Championship cricket in the 70s and 80s under Mike Gatting.
Tomorrow is the first of seven monthly afternoon HCS meetings at either the Romsey or Test Valley Golf Clubs, with Richard Ellison, Ian 'Gunner' Gould and Mike Selvey all due to speak in the coming months.
