Former South Wilts and Sarisbury Athletic all-rounder Ryan Burl made his ODI debut for Zimbabwe against Afghanistan in Harare - only to have his big day spoiled by the rain. He made 28 and shared a half-century stand with one-time Lymington cricketer Craig Ervine (38) before the rains came with Zim 99-4 (27.2 overs) and adrift of the required run rate. The visitors posted 215 and won by 12 runs on D/L. Burl will play for Littleborough (Rochdale) this summer alongside the Zimbabwe Academy, who are touring England, with matches against Northants and Worcestershire 2nd XIs and a number of ECB Premier Leagues. Zimbabwe play the second match of the ODI Series on Sunday.
