Burridge are sliding rapidly into relegation trouble at the foot of the ECB Southern Premier League after suffering a fourth defeat in five matches and an eighth in ten overall.
They are effectively ten points ahead of Bournemouth – the only side they’ve beaten thus far – at the start of the second phase of the 18-match programme.
Hampshire’s Fletcha Middleton (78) sent his season’s tally past the 300-mark during a key stand with James Taylor (67) which came after Sully White (3-40) had broken through. Jaidel Richardson (34) added useful runs as the visitors reached 234-8.
Jack Paskins (36) and James Hughes (29) put on 51 for the first Burridge wicket in reply, but that was as good as it got. Brighton Mugochi (4-35) accounted for most of the middle order, including South African teen Nathan Schoultz (8) while Burridge were again without injured captain Hilio De Abreu.
Joe Bracey (3-37) dismissed both openers - and stand-in skipper Joe Collings-Wells (0) - as Burridge were all out for 147, losing by 87 runs.
