Gosport Borough halted a five-match losing run with an emphatic 146-run win over Paultons, Bay House schoolboy Ephraim Royle celebrating his maiden Southern Premier League half-century and Scott Taylor returning to the top of the Division 3 bowling charts with a four-wicket haul.
When Gosport won their opening three matches they were being touted as potential promotion material, but that lean run hit confidence hard - until they rediscovered their batting form last weekend.
They benefitted from a 79-run start by Queenslander Ollie Lunt (36) and Royle, whose fifty helped Lee Harrop (41) and Jacob Harris (33) guide the Borough to 217-7.
Paultons lost half their wickets for 31 and were bundled out for 71, Taylor taking 4-16 and his season's wicket tally to 22. Harris, Muhammad Ali and Conor Regan took two wickets each before Taylor sliced through the lower-order.

Alex Turner [above] celebrated an SPL best 113 (one more than against Hambledon in 2019) as Bashley (Rydal) seconds had Parley chasing leather - the SPL3 newcomers conceding 305-9 at West Parley before it rained and the match was abandoned.
Turner hit four sixes and 15 fours and shared a sizeable 135-run stand with Patrick Holly (60) before stumps were drawn. Picture Terry Nash.
