Hambledon’s Australian all-rounder Luke Barber has been named Southern Premier League Division 3 Cricketer of the Month for June, an award sponsored each month by www.vimpsatthecrease.com cricket website, in conjunction with Cricket-Hockey.com, the Downton-based sports equipment specialists.
The 20-year old, who plays for Norwood in the Melbourne’s Ringwood District Competition back home, has taken 28 league wickets so far this season – half of which came last month, when he also made over 100 runs in Hambledon’s three SPL3 games.
Hambledon won four of their opening five matches, but have subsequently been hit by injury, with Henry Glanfield (broken ankle) out for the rest of the season, and joining Ian Turner on the treatment table.
