Matt de Villiers, whose 1,295 run haul was pivotal to Hambledon's Southern Premier Division 2 championship triumph this past summer, hit an unbeaten century to guide his South African club side Claremont to a seven-wicket victory over UWC (Cape University) in the Western Province Premier League.
He made a run-a- ball 102, including 11 fours, as Claremont chase down a UWC total of 232-8.
Playing in the same competition, Hampshire's Fletcha Middleton made 26 for Cape Town (193) who lost by seven wickets to Green Point, for whom Gloucestershire's Gareth Roderick made 66 not out.
