The Hampshire and Somerset development sides shared the spoils in a thoroughly entertaining t20 double at Bashley (Rydal), with Tom Prest starring with bat and ball as Hampshire proved dominant with a powerful 206-6 in the curtain raiser.
The second match was a thriller – Hampshire being pipped by one run after Harry Broderick (44) had set up pursuit of Somerset’s 179-5. It appeared a lost cause for Hampshire, but some big hitting by Ben Huntley (34) took it to the last ball, Somerset clinging on to win by a solitary run.
