Academy captain Joseph Eckland, who played for England U19s last summer and in short-form ODIs against Australia in Brisbane last month, is among four promising young cricketers to be awarded a Rookie contract by Hampshire.
The others are Fletcha Middleton, and pace bowling duo Harry Petrie and left-armer John Turner. All four players fly to Spain for a pre-season training camp later this week.
