Hook & Newnham Basics won the HCB Under-13 Cup - the Bill Hindley Trophy - after a dramatic bowl-out after the final against Sarisbury Athletic at Tichborne Park last night was washed out by heavy rain in mid-stream.
Hook had already posted a formidable 148-3 through Will Wyatt (30), Ollie Jones (30), Josh May (24) and Callum Doran (19), but Sarisbury were unable to start their reply due to the bad weather.
The final had to be decided by a bowl-out, which Hook won 2-1 after each side had bowled ten deliveries.
Easton & Martyr Worthy beat Hambledon in the previous evening's Under-11 Alan Rowe Cup final.
The U15 county semi-finals take place on Monday evening - Totton & Eling v St Cross Symondians and Hook & Newnham Basics v Waterlooville - with the final at Hursley Park on July 11.
