Wiltshire product Jake Goodwin is one of three young cricketers released by Hampshire from scholarship contracts.
The 19-year old from Swindon, pictured, made 32 on his T20 debut, helping Hampshire beat Somerset under the Ageas Bowl floodlights last July.
But he has struggled for any form in both Hampshire second team and Academy matches this season.
He has returned to play for his home club Swindon in the West of England Premier 'feeder' League and will continue to play Minor Counties Championship cricket for his native Wiltshire.
Also leaving the Ageas Bowl ranks next week are Havant all-rounder Josh McCoy and Isle of Wight raised left-hand opener Ben Duggan.
Hampshire’s Head of Player Development, Charlie Freeston explained: “All three lads are still in Scholarship agreements until the end of June. However, they have all been told that it is highly unlikely that they will receive an extension.”
