England gave Seniors cricket in the UK a significant boost by winning the Over-50s World Cup in Cape Town this week, beating the host country South Africa by 65-runs in a rain trimmed Newlands final, Essex run gun Giles Ecclestone hitting 120.
England made 267-6 off 40 overs and restricted the Proteas to 202-8.
Cricket at seniors level constantly evolves and it is continually necessary to recruit cricketers aged 49 and over.
