Hampshire Seniors
Standing (from left): Barry Goodman, Steve Mitchell, Kevin Weeks, Rick Marston, Chris Yates, Martin Shephard, Dick Batchelor (statsman). Seated: Neil Sutherland, Neil Trestrail, Nick Board, John Rickard (President/Chairman), Geoff Beale, Iain Britton.
Hampshire Seniors are getting excited - they're through to the next phase of the National Sixties Championships after extending their winning run with a six wicket victory over Buckinghamshire at Hursley Park.
They restricted Bucks to 186-4 (Keith Wallis 75) and polished off to target with some ease after a bright start by Geoff Beale (31) and Neil Trestrail (38). A steady 43 not out by Nick Board saw Hampshire home, with support from Iain Britton (26) and Chris 'Rowdy' Yates, who ensured there would be no hold ups with an unbeaten 28, which (unlike his recent/abandoned trip to Winton) found the right route to victory.
Hampshire's opponents in the next phase are Essex (home), Berkshire (away), Herts (away), Wales and Somerset at home.
