Three prominent members of the Hampshire Seniors’ cricket team – Nick Gargaro (left), Keith Harsham (centre) and Kevin Poulter (right) – fly to Sri Lanka today following their selection for an England Counties team to play a four-cornered International Veterans tournament in Colombo.
They will play against representative Over-50s teams from India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan, who are captained by former Test left-hand opening batsman and spin bowler Aamir Sohail.
New Milton’s Nick Gargaro and Hook & Newnham Basics’ Kevin Poulter, who fought a successful battle against cancer to make the trip, will be two of England’s two left-arm slow bowling options.
Seam all-rounder Keith Harsham was a lead player for Basingstoke in his prime. He now plays for the second team at May’s Bounty.
