Chris Wheeler and Andy Steggall shared a 136-run opening partnership to point Hampshire Seniors to a much needed seven-wicket victory over Berkshire in the National Sixties Championship at Ramsdell.
Wheeler hit 14 boundaries in his 83, while Steggall, century hero against Kent last month, made 50. Neil Trestrail's 32 not out got Hampshire past Berkshire's 183-9 (Chris Yates 3-24) with seven overs to spare.
Hampshire 50s are in action against the Isle of Wight at Newclose today [Wednesday], while the 70s take centre stage when Sussex visit Twyford on Thursday, 1pm.
