Eighty of Prest's 99 runs (20 fours) as Hampshire closed the first of the three day match on 192-5, a lead of 23 over Devon, who were dismissed for 169, Harry Petrie (4-41) and Josh Croom (3-45) having taken advantage of favourable morning bowling conditions to reduce West Country visitors to 48-4 and later 120-7. Jack Moore made 60 for Devon and Fletcha Middleton 30 for Hampshire. Play resumes on Tuesday at 10.45am.
