A massive batting collapse, in which eight wickets fell for 36 runs, cost Hampshire Under-15s a place in the last eight of the ECB County Cup.
Hampshire had to beat Devon in their final group match at Seaton to qualify for the quarter-finals, but they nosedived from 72-2 (Jovan Dhariwal 62) to 108 all out and an eventual four-wicket defeat.
The result left Hampshire in a disappointing second-from-bottom place in the west group, which Somerset (who Hampshire beat in their opening game) won with some comfort.
Under 15 results:
Hampshire 158-3 (Dhariwal 46, Middleton 38) beat Somerset 154 by seven wickets.
Hampshire 82-2 (Ayers 27, Pardoe 27, Kantolinna 23) beat Gloucestershire 131 (Kantolinna 3-14) on faster scoring rate.
Somerset 107 (Pardoe 3-18, Organ 3-20) beat Hampshire 102 (Ayers 22, Young 5-45) by five runs.
Hampshire 176-5 (Kantolinna 30, Trussler 30, Southon 27) beat Oxfordshire 175 (Kooner-Evans 5-14) by five wickets.
Gloucestershire 184-6 beat Hampshire 183-7 (Ayers 47, Southon 47, Dhariwal 41) by four wickets.
Devon 107-6 (Pardoe 3-8) beat Hampshire 108 (Dhariwal 62) by four wickets.
