Its not often that an international cricketer plays at Havant Park but on Sunday (May 6) there will be several on display. Hampshire’s newly promoted Women side are playing Nottinghamshire in a National Division One County Championship 50 over game starting at 11am.
Captaining Hampshire will be Charlotte Edwards who led England to their World Cup and World T20 Cup double in 2009 and also captained the side to three Ashes series wins. Alongside will be New Zealand star Suzie Bates, England debutant Katie George (who recently took a hat trick on her first outing in India), Havant `s own Charlie Dean Emily Windsor. Nottinghamshire boast at least two England players.
The game will be played in coloured clothing with a white ball and black sightscreens and so if you are curious about watching a `pyjama` game and have not seen women`s cricket at a high level, then Havant Park is the place to be on Sunday.
