Four Hampshire batsmen hit half-centuries as the county closed a successful pre-season Caribbean tour with a run fest off the Barbados A attack at the Kensington Oval Test ground.
After dismissing their island hosts for 210 – Barbados were 56-6 at lunch on day one – Hampshire lost Jimmy Adams cheaply, but prospered as Joe Weatherley (84) and Michael Carberry (73) , pictured by Jo Sommerton, shared a second-wicket stand of 126.
The county continued to pile up the runs with Adam Wheater (64) and in-form Lewis McManus (58) enjoying another century partnership before Hampshire reached 345-7 declared.
It meant back-to-back fifties for McManus, who took one outstanding one-handed catch behind the stumps.
Hampshire sent down 32 overs of spin in the final session, with the emerging Brad Taylor taking 3-90.
Deposed island opener Kyle Corbin made a long overdue century as Barbados reached 173-5 by stumps.
Scores -
Barbados A 210 (Goodman-Welcome 86, Stuart 52, Ervine 3-22)
Hampshire 345-7 (Weatherley 84, Carberry 73, Wheater 64, McManus 58, Stuart 3-66)
