The Poole-based Currie brothers, Bradley and Scott, went head-to-head in Hampshire's Second XI Championship match against Sussex on the Ageas Bowl Nursery Ground, both emerging with credit by close of play on day one.
Younger sibling Scott top scored for Hampshire with 63 not out and faced his elder left-arm bowling brother in an competitive environment for the first time since the Academy played Bashley (Rydal) back in 2019.
Scott kept his stumps intact while Brad returned a creditable 4-23 off 14 overs, five of which were maidens. His victims were Charlie Mumford, Dom Kelly, John Turner and Jack Campbell.
Hampshire were 12-3 early on, with Joe Weatherley, Tom Prest and Aneurin Donald all falling cheaply until Toby Albert (30) and Joseph Eckland (37) helped Currie steer their final total to 195 all out.
But Sussex lurched to 68-4 by stumps, with Prest clinging onto three catches.
